Dr. Richard P. Timm, DDS,
Bio and CE
Dr.
Timm graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He
then completed a General Practice Dental Residency at Denver General Hospital,
Denver, Colorado.
While at the Denver General Hospital, he received advanced training in
the dental specialties of Gum Disease treatment (periodontal), Root Canal
treatment (endodontics). In addition, Dr. Timm received training in crowns,
bridges, dentures (prosthetics), childrens dentistry (pedodontics),
oral surgery, and general dentistry.
He completed a mini-residency for the Advanced Study and Treatment of
TMJ (Jaw Joint) problems in 1987 from The Atlantic Craniomandibular Society,
and a two-year mini-residency in the Study of Orthodontics in 1995 from
the US Dental Institute.
In 1993, Dr. Timm received the coveted Fellowship Award from the Academy
of General Dentistry for successfully completing a 500 hour, five year
course of study in the varied Dental Specialties including completing
a certifying exam.
Since 1997, Dr. Timm has studied extensively and continuously in the Concept
of Complete Care under the instruction of Dr. Pete Dawson at the Center
for Advanced Dental Education and Dr. Frank Spears Seattle Institute
for Advanced Dental Education. This continuing course of study combines
the Art of Cosmetic and Esthetic Dentistry with the Science of Reconstructive
Dentistry. This continuing education allows Dr. Timm to treat the complicated
cosmetic and reconstructive care a patient may need. Of course Dr. Timm
also enjoys treating the less complicated, but still challenging, procedures
most patients require.
In 1999 he was awarded a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. To
receive the prestigious Masters Award. Dr. Timm completed a rigorous 600
hour course of study divided among 16 separate dental specialties. There
are only about 15 masters of the Academy of General Dentistry in Minnesota.
Dr. Timm has taken over 2,000 hours of continuing dental education to
best serve the interests and needs of his patients.
