Modern Equipment & Comfort

The number one priority at All Family Dental is high quality dentistry accomplished in a comfortable atmosphere with the latest techniques and equipment.

CEREC -- restoring damaged teeth with crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays used to require multiple appointments, but not at our office! Dr. Timm and Dr Schultz make use of an impressive new technology known as CEREC to allow your cosmetic dental work to be completed in just one appointment. First digital impressions are made of your teeth, using a special, highly precise camera. The CEREC machine then uses the digital image to design a custom restoration for you, matching the color precisely with the shade of your natural teeth. The machine then mills the restoration while you wait.

Dr. Timm and Dr Schultz bond the new restoration to your tooth, and your dental work is completed -- often in under an hour!

Music and Movies

In each operatory there is a 21” monitor with DVD capabilities and headphones for your viewing and listening pleasure

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras are in each operatory. An intraoral camera is a pen-sized camera that is placed inside the mouth. An image is then magnified and projected on to a monitor. If Dr. Timm tells you that you have a cavity or a cracked filling you will be able to see it as easily as he can.

Panoramic X-ray Machine
We have a panoramic x-ray machine that spins around your head to get the “big picture.” Dentists call this a radiograph and it is used for several things. They can see if you have teeth that have not dropped down into place or to see if you need a tooth or teeth removed to make extra room in your mouth when doing orthodontic treatment. We can make a preliminary diagnosis of many conditions. For adults that might be considering braces, we can use the panoramic x-ray to get a good overview of bone support your teeth have. The radiation of the panoramic x-ray machine is equivalent to only four smaller films so there is no need to worry about excessive amounts of radiation just because it is a large x-ray machine.

Cephalometric X-ray
A cephalometric x-ray takes a side view of the head, used most commonly for orthodontic determinations of treatment.

The soft tissues of the face are specially enhanced so as to be able to determine the changes to profile that orthodontic therapy will alter.

Oral Sedation
Maybe you’re one of the people who would rather endure almost anything than go to the dentist! Good news awaits you at All Family Dental. We can provide you with oral sedation which is simply a pill that makes you sleepy, but you will able to respond when told to open your mouth wider or bite down. The best part is that you won’t recall anything when your procedure is finished! Learn more about Sedation Dentistry. We also have nitrous oxide probably best known as “laughing gas” because it makes you feel euphoric and mirthful when taken in small amounts.

VIPER (Video Ingress to Personalized Educational Resources)
VIPER is a video system that allows you to choose a subject about dentistry procedures and then view for your own information. Many treatment descriptions are available and will help you to understand more clearly any procedure you may be considering.

TMJ-X-ray and Articulator
During the initial examination, the orthodontist will carefully check the patient to survey the bite and positioning of the teeth as they open and clench. He will also check the temporal mandibular joint (TMJ), or jaw joint. He will diagnose physical aspects of the case that he will wish to further establish through additional measurements, x-rays, and casts. At the time of treatment, study model casts may be necessary to mount onto a device that is called an articulator. The articulator simulates the jaw joint. When the casts are mounted onto this articulator, it positions the model with the upper arch to the lower arch, in the lifelike position of jaws and teeth. Precise measurements are made. Accurate establishment of the bite is possible because, while the articulator replaces the jaw joint function, it also eliminates false positioning that can be caused by the facial muscles in their effort to achieve comfortable occlusion. Precise measurement via these study models with an articulator is called “registration,” or registered study models.
